You to can join the KLRC race car family.  We can supply you anything from a tab or a bracket for the home builder to a bare chassis or a detailed chassis all the way to a complete car. We even have sources to supply the engines and transmissions and there is a local race car trailer builder as well.

We have kits available that have all the hardware that will provide the home builder to construct his own race car into a proven chassis combination.

This is only a sample of some of the cars that we have built. We construct the car to a point that the customer wants to finish it from. Usually this is a "roller". This means the car is complete less engine, transmission and diff center. Then the customer takes the car home to apply his personal touches. As you can see below some of the racers have applied a very nice finishing touch to their race cars.

We aren't building any cars at the moment due to a host of reasons, all inflicted by the government. The high Oz dollar, the GST versus the old wholesales sales tax, the free trade act with removed all duties at the port and the high cost of operation in Australia at the moment. This is not likely to change in the near future so we are making race car hardware such as crank supports, mag drivers and a host of other specialized items. Fuel systems and the Drag Race School are our current income.

Unfinished projects listed below

Once the cars leave KLRC the owners apply their own personal touches to their cars. These cars have not made it to the race track yet. As you can see some of them are not too far away.

A step back in time.......

If you make the comment that I was car crazy I could not argue against that because it is true. The 55 was one in a long line of cars. My friends and I were buying and selling, fixing cars when we were only 14 years old and too young to legally drive. Most of us started racing as soon as we got our divers license at the age of 16.

Kens first tube chassis race car. The year was 1965

Click Photo for more pictures.
Kens second tube chassis race car 1966. Tom Richardson and I built this one and only raced it a few times before Ken had to leave for his tour of duty. The car was split up, Ken taking his parts, Tom taking his parts and the rest was sold.

All the time Ken was in Vietnam 1967-1969 he saved every penny except for ten dollars a month which was spent on CocaCola's. He never took a R&R in country or out just to save money. The goal was two fold, first stay alive so he could come home and race, the second is to save as much money as possible to build his next race car.

1969 Ken started on this car, started racing it in 1970 and raced it through 1975 in classes from C/Dragster, B/Dragster, A/Dragster and B/Fuel Dragster.

August 1974 US Nationals B/Fuel Dragster - Here is where Ken met Roly Leahy and David Hawk.
